Every season there is a new fad diet or weight loss pill that magically melts those extra pounds away. Although the weight loss pills will not work, the new fad diets can work as the dieter eats less. However, the thing is that people are getting rich off the need to lose weight – but some diets or weight management activities truly burn your hip pocket.
The good news for those who want effective weight loss advice but cannot afford a Personal Trainer at the gym is that there are small changes one can make to create a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Fuel for Your Body
Whatever you consume goes into your body just like fuel would go into your vehicle. You would not want to run on a low gas tank, just like you should not run low on energy. On the other hand, imagine if you overflowed fuel into your car and there was no automatic mechanism to stop it from flowing? Likewise, people need to know when to stop eating.
Believe it or not, eating at the proper time does not mean you eat when your stomach is rumbling. After all, you would not put gas in the tank only when the signal blinks on red would you? Regular times for meals should be adhered to.
The best time to stop eating for the day is actually 4 hours prior to that person’s normal sleep time. So for example, if someone usually goes to bed at 11pm, they should not eat after 7pm even if they feel a bit hungry. If you really cannot stand the hunger pains or perhaps your schedule for the day was a bit messed up, then you should only eat very light foods 4 hours prior to bedtime. However, water can be taken any time.
Another analogy to do with cars is apt with the human body. Think of car oil being like water – if you do not have enough oil in the body, you will not be able to drive very far at all. Quenching our thirst is important, and what we quench it with is just as equally important.
After all, you can imagine if someone could be if they just drank alcohol or coffee for every single drink! One of the best and most plentiful gifts in this universe is water. Water is the natural way, and people should drink at least 8 glasses per day. However, it should not be used as a substitute to drown out your appetite.
Best Food Choices
“Ah, if only we could lose weight by just eating chocolate or fries!” some may say. Some people prefer to go cold turkey when going on a diet, but restricting food options can actually set up failure because when they get off the diet, they still are unable to resist the temptations.
Instead, why not try to look for the healthier options? For example, if you like nuts, why not try almonds which is a crunchy superfood? Or how about if you feel like having milk, going for low-fat milk?
